ABOUT SAISON DUAN

Hello everyone !

My name is Duan Li, I am the founder and designer of Saison Duan.

After graduating from the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, I had the chance to work at Chloé, Lanvin and Paule Ka as a designer. Then, I decided to create my own studio to develop collections for my clients.

Today, I finally decided to create my own brand, to do what I love, in the style I like. And if you like this style too, I am delighted to meet you here and introduce you to the story of Saison Duan!

Comfort and practicality are essential to me, and at Saison Duan our philosophy is to offer “effortless fashion”: natural elegance, simple but unique.

Saison Duan is a responsible brand, and we make a point of selecting quality materials. We work with natural fibers from reliable sources and also use unsold fabrics from luxury brands of the LVMH group, in order to find a balance between respect for the environment and quality.

I was born and raised in Yunnan Province, China, a region rich in multi-ethnic cultures. There are Bai, Miao, Yi, among others, and I am part of this diversity: my father is Bai and my mother is Miao, hence my first name "Duan", from the Bai culture.

The minorities in this region do not have their own writing system, they use patterns and colors to express their emotions and tell their stories. They perpetuate their culture through embroidery, wax dyeing, tie dyeing, and plant heat transfer techniques.

My wish is to reinterpret these artisanal skills in modern creations, so that each piece tells a unique cultural story. At Saison Duan, all our creations are produced in limited edition, like these skills. We use unsold fabrics to design unique garments. Often, each roll of fabric allows us to create only a few pieces, which makes each model truly special, with a touch of authenticity and a story to share.

Sustainability is at the heart of our approach, it is a value that has always been close to my heart. With our custom production, we precisely control our quantities, which allows us to avoid waste and offer environmentally friendly fashion.

For me, fashion is more than just clothes; it’s a way to show who you are. Through Saison Duan’s capsule collections, I want every woman to feel this simple elegance and feel confident, while expressing her own uniqueness.
